Bumi's Imaginary Companions

Bumi

Those view days was though. Paa got flu, kids too. And Bumi got a new "friend".He called his new friend "Kecik Nonet" which means "Tiny" in English. The major worries is Bumi new "friend", I have put quote mark because she is physically invisible, only Bumi could see her. Bumi said she is a female, little girl look like Dea my niece.

He often talked to her periodically, mostly when I was not around. In day time when I'm working, My mom managed my kids to played in their house, there's one empty room used for storage of some family stuff. And I think this tiny "friend" lived there as Bumi sometimes look for her in that room and sometimes outside underneath the mango tree behind the house, he was talked to her from the window that day.
In the first place, I was not that worry until he was silently came to the storage room to play with his "friend". I'm afraid that someday he will follow her to go somewhere he did not know, such thoughts just not comfortable for me at all.

So, I started to google-ing about the Imaginary Friends, fortunately I found a book by Marjorie Taylor titled "Imaginary Companions and the Children who create them". This book made me relief, because it mentioned that it's normal that children in 3-5 years old to have an imaginary companion and also some positive things about it. (I have not finished to read the books yet).

I also read some explanation on Wikipedia.com and found this quote which is reduces my anxiety:
Taylor, Carlson & Gerow (c2001: p. 190) hold that:
"despite some results suggesting that children with imaginary companions might be superior in intelligence, it is not true that all intelligent children create them"

And the most important thing, we ask some help from our neighbor to check if any Jinn around the house, (because recently Bumi also mentioned that his tiny "friend" hiding in our wardrobe). And yesterday our neighbor finally find out that there are Jinns around the house but not too vicious, means they will not disturb. This idea already make me anxious because it will be better if they just leave my house because I don't want anything happen to Bumi or others, but he said that Insya Alloh it will not gonna happen. He said it also needs time for the Jinn to move as they were homeless as their place is now to be built of new housing complex.

Maybe some people just don't believe in such supernatural things. But I do. As mentioned in Qur'an that Alloh creates Human and Jinn to worship to HIM.

Last night were relieving as Bumi did not mentioned anything about "kecik nonet" things. But as a mom, I was still worried. In the light of both sides, supernatural or physiological, I'm now relief that many positives result on this case. Bumi's imaginations are now growing up, and the Jinn is a friendly one. So, nothing to worried about mom...

I also asked my friend about his case on Facebook, and those are their answers, thanks for care and courageous.

There are some movies about Imaginary Companions but I just hate to refer on that about this case. I wish to continue reading the book of Marjorie Taylor. You can find it from Amazon or bookdepository.co.uk with Free Shipping Delivery Worldwide.
